Metro Reduced Fare Cards
Senior Citizens
If you are 60 years of age or older, you qualify to have your fare reduced to â�¨$ .50. If you are age 65+, you can ride Metro for free with a Senior PLUS ID card. You can fill out a Reduced Fare Card application or Senior PLUS ID application at Centre Station 1200 River Drive, Moline, so we may issue your card right away. You must bring a valid proof of age document (example: driver’s license, IL State ID card) and also proof of residency within our service district (example: utility bill, voters card) with you when you apply.
Rider’s with disabilities
If you are entitled to Social Security or SSI Disability Benefits, you qualify to have your fare reduced to $ .50. You must complete a Reduced Fare application at Centre Station. Please bring a copy of your Medicare card or a current document from the Social Security Administration Office that verifies your disability benefits and a valid photo ID.
Other riders with disabilities
If you have a disability and are not using State assistance, you may still qualify for reduced fare. Please bring a signed document by your physician indicating your disability and referral to use public transit, when you apply for a Reduced Fare Card at Centre Station. Also bring a valid photo ID.
Veteran with 100% service-related disability benefits
If you are a veteran with 100% service-related disability, you qualify to have your fare reduced to $.50. You can complete a Reduced Fare Card Application at Centre Station. You may submit a letter from the Veteran’s Administration (VA) as proof of your disability. You must bring a valid photo ID. You must fill out a Reduced Fare application located at Centre Station, so that we may issue you a Reduced Fare ID Card for Metro use.
People With Disabilities Ride Free Program
This program offers people with disabilities who meet certain income limits, and are enrolled in the Illinois Circuit Breaker program, free rides statewide on all fixed-route public transit systems. To apply for Illinois Circuit Breaker, go online to www.cbrx.il.gov or call 1-800-624-2459. If you are enrolled in the Circuit Breaker program, you must complete a Metro People with Disabilities Free Ride Program. application at Centre Station to be eligible to receive a Metro Circuit Breaker ID card. Please bring a valid photo ID and proof of Circuit Breaker enrollment, a postcard from the Illinois Department on Aging verifying your enrollment in the Illinois Circuit Breaker program. The Circuit Breaker eligibility and the transit benefit must be renewed each year. You must apply for a Metro Circuit Breaker ID card each year.
