Winter Weather
In the case of service modification during emergencies, the following standard modifications to our routes will apply. Due to other conditions we might not be able to travel in other areas. Please check our web site or call one of our Customer service representatives for more information.
LEVEL 1 WINTER WEATHER ALERT
A Level 1 Winter Weather Alert indicates buses will continue to run regular routes, but may be behind schedule up to 15 minutes.
LEVEL 2 WINTER WEATHER ALERT
A Level 2 Winter Weather Alert indicates certain routes will implement moderate deviations based on road conditions throughout the area.
Route 10
No service to Hampton.
Route 20
Inbound and outbound will run on 15th Street between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue instead of 16th Street.
Route 30
In Rock Island there will be no service on 25th Street or 31st Avenue. In Moline we will run 27th Street instead of 25th Street.
Route 40
In Milan there will be no service on the frontage roads. We will run route 67 and 92nd Avenue. This will affect Hillcrest and 20th Avenue shelter.
Route 50
In East Moline there will be no service on Kennedy Drive between 17th Avenue and 30th Avenue we will operate on Archer Drive.
Route 55
In Silvis we will not run on 16th Street between 1st Avenue and 5th Avenue. We will be operating on 17th Street.
Route 53
In Rock Island we will not operate on 10th Avenue or 34th Street.
Route 57 East of Centre Station
Inbound and outbound will run on 15th Street between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue instead of 16th Street. There will not be service on 60th Street between 34th Avenue and John Deere Road. We will be operating on 41st Street.
Route 57 West of Centre Station
Inbound and outbound will use 15th Street instead of 12th Street.
Route 60
There will be no service to Black Hawk College.
Route 70
Demand response west of 4th Street and Andalusia Road.
Route 90
There will not be service on 60th Street between 34th Avenue and John Deere Road. We will be operating on 41st Street.
LEVEL 3 WINTER WEATHER ALERT
A Level 3 Winter Weather Alert indicates routes will exercise extreme caution based on road conditions throughout the area.
Route 10
No service to Hampton or the Industrial Park in East Moline.
Route 20
Inbound and outbound will run on 15th Street between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue instead of 16th Street.
Route 30
In Rock Island there will be no service on 25th Street or 31st Avenue. In Moline we will run 27th Street instead of 25th Street. There will be no service to Black Hawk College, Deerfield Woods, John Deere Administration and Crown Forest. We will turn around at Kennedy Square.
Route 40
In Rock Island there will be no service to Sunset Heights. Bus will stay on 11th Street. In Milan there will be no service on the frontage roads. We will run route 67 an 92nd Avenue. This will affect Hillcrest and 20th Avenue shelter.
Route 50
In East Moline there will be no service on Kennedy Drive between 17th Avenue and 30th Avenue. We will operate on Archer Drive.
Route 55
In Silvis we will not run on 16th Street between 1st Avenue and 5th Avenue. We will be operating on 17th Street. There will be no service to Illini Towers Loma Linda, Warren Towers or Colona.
Route 53
There will not be service on 34th Street, 10th Avenue, 32nd Street and 12th Avenue.
Route 57 East of Centre Station
Inbound and outbound will run on 15th Street between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue instead of 16th Street. There will not be service on 60th Street between 34th Avenue and John Deere Road. We will be operating on 41st Street.
Route 57 West of Centre Station
Inbound and outbound will use 15th Street instead of 12th Street.
Route 60
There will be no service to Black Hawk College. In Rock Island buses will not operate on 5th Street. They will operate on 9th Street. There will be no demand response service.
Route 70
Demand response west of 4th Street and Andalusia Road.
Route 90
There will not be service on 60th Street between 34th Avenue and John Deere Road. We will be operating on 41st Street. There will be no service to Heritage addition or Cottage Grove. There will be no demand response service.
If or when there is a Winter Weather Alert, please be cautious of your safety. Dress warm, make sure you’re wearing proper snow shoe apparel to prevent slipping while boarding or deboarding a Metro bus, and don't go out if you don't have to.
- Dress warmly and wear high visibility clothing
- Let the bus come to a complete stop before moving forward to board
- After twilight wait for the bus in an area that is well lit. Carry a flashlight if possible and wave the flashlight to get the attention of the Operator
- Exercise additional caution in boarding and deboarding the bus. Remember, stairs and aisle may be slippery from the snow.
- Give your driver extra notice when you signal to get off the bus.
